This Blog Has Lost Its Mojo

It's sad that I've not updated The Blog since February! Shame on me really, since neglecting my own site is only going to effect me! - Since launching the new design along with The Blog it seems so many unexpected things have happened in life that had to take priority - and so whatever mojo I'd created in the first place has most definitely been lost now...

What's Been Keeping Me Busy?

A few fundamental changes have happened at the core of Mallmus and my life, back in February I'd design and develop sites and also generate income from a part-time job, but a job opportunity came my way which I couldn't refuse - to summarise I'd been asked to offer consultancy for IBM on a full-time basis - which then had to take priority as a lot was asked of me; this new job and experience has led to Mallmus and myself to grow exponentially - the opportunity has brought many new and interesting clients my way which I'm sure I'll tell you about soon.

This contract has sadly ended now due to completion of the project, but I won't be returning to my previous part-time job but instead continuing onto a new contract in a couple of months.

Hometown Show News

The making of Hometown Shows first single, Were and Always.

So along side my massive commute into London everyday, my taxing and wearing new job I have actually found time to work on some Mallmus projects. As I mentioned before I've been helping a local small band build a better online presence, and a couple of days ago we launched a MySpace replacement for Hometown Show, a small band originally from the UK but now in America.

Between now and my next consultancy contract I am to launch more web sites built by Mallmus, as well as maintaining The Blog.

Why?

Why do I do any of what I do? - Some say its a lost cause, working for yourself, being freelance, not having a regular income, no set holiday times and probably a few more! - But these things don't bother me, my circumstances led me to this path, I haven't been able to go to university but I went to college twice instead - and I don't feel having a degree is the edge you need, it's really which people you know and the experiences you've had; and with the determination that some academic-types might lack, I've struck out and founded my own creative business - but lets not overlook the fact that I had to work part-time to support myself, yes, I could have gone straight into a career-job but the satisfaction of starting something that works and keeping it afloat myself is far more rewarding.

'Next Time' will hopefully be just around the corner, so stay tuned...
